On joining Southern Co-op as a member, you will receive these communications by email if we have an address for you, or in certain circumstances, by post. Terms & Conditions

Members must be over 14 years of age. Our terms and conditions of membership will either be sent with your membership card, or, for online joiners, made available at the time of joining. They can also be viewed online at thesoutherncooperative.co.uk.

You have 14 days from receiving your membership card to advise Member Support if you no longer wish to be a member. Use of your membership card will be seen as your acceptance of the terms and conditions of membership. You must be 18 or over to opt in to All Yours.

I hereby apply for membership of The Southern Co-operative Ltd and agree to invest £1.00 in order to purchase a share in the Society and agree for payment to be taken from my Share of the Profits payments.

I agree to be bound by the Rules of the Society and the additional full Terms and Conditions of The Cooperative Membership Card Scheme.

I am committed to the Society remaining a co-operative and support co-operative values and principles and hereby agree to assign to SCL (Members) Trustee Ltd, which will act as trustee for such registered charity or charities, established for the benefit of the community in the trading area of the Society, as the Directors of the Society shall determine, but to no other person, the rights of any conversion benefits (as defined in the full Terms and Conditions which I have read) to which I may otherwise be entitled as a member or former member of the Society at any time before, or within three years after my membership of the Society ceases. The agreement is irrevocable and authorises the Society to make over to the trustee any such benefits without further notice to me.

I understand that the Society, unlike banks and building societies, is not subject to prudential supervision by the Financial Conduct Authority and that my share account is not intended to be a savings product. The Board of Directors of the Society has the power to refuse any application for membership without giving reason.

I agree and apply, subject to these terms and conditions which I have read, to become a member of The Southern Co-operative.
